Purchase trip to Europe
One of the most important activities at RCR Equestrian Inc. is to organize custom trips to Europe for our clients to purchase horses. Our partnership is based in Germany, about 1 hour from Düsseldorf airport with Holland and Belgium less then 2 hours away by car. This central location allows us to visit a large number of barns with minimal driving in between.
Planning of these trips start with an initial contact in which you describe as detailed as possible what horse you are looking for , your budget and when you plan to travel. Based on that info, we will make a selection of horses that meet your criteria.
Unlike other barns, we will not try to “push” our own horses but will try to find the best match in our extensive network of contacts. We will select horses from contacts that we trust and have done business with before. One of our strengths is that Mr. Riemer has been part of the european show jumping community for more then 28 years and knows who to trust.
The trip will start with us going together from the airport to the hotel. A normal day will consist of visiting 3 to 4 barns where pre-selected horses can be tried in a private atmosphere. To break the day, we will take you to a local tack shop or one of the numerous horse shows that are held in our area every week.
We encourage our clients to enjoy some “non-horsey” activities as well. This can be shopping, visiting one of the historic cities that surround us or just relaxing and taking in the European lifestyle. Many clients like to come to Europe for a week, where 3 or 4 days are spent horse shopping and the remaining time is spent enjoying Europe. Düsseldorf, Brussels, Paris and Amsterdam are the most common places to visit as they are only a few hours away. We will apply travel and lodge cost of our Team to your purchase price. An additional fee of $500 per day for the duration of the scouting trip will be applied.
As mentioned earlier, these trips are totally “custom”, so if you have any special requests such enhanced privacy or security, just let us know so we can accommodate your needs.

Purchase by video
If you are too busy to make the trip or simply want to secure the horse before it gets sold to someone else, this might be the way to go. Our RCR Team travels frequently overseas to scout for talents, so you do not have to. We will apply travel and lodge cost of our team to your purchase price. An additional fee of $500 per day for the duration of the scouting trip will be applied. The combination of detailed videos, pictures and phone conversations will allow you to make a well informed decision regarding the purchase. We understand that is not for everyone but we want you to know that this procedure is available. It is more commonly used than you might think .

Once you have found the right horse, we will take care of everything regarding the purchase.
This includes:
- all communications and sales documents with the seller
- all arrangements regarding the pre-purchase examination by a highly qualified veterinary or a veterinary of choice. If desired we can send the digital X-rays to your vet to review.
- all matters regarding export (blood work, export documents, customs declarations, air transport, etc)
We will make sure you don’t have to worry about anything, just be ready to see your horse arrive to its new home.
Once you have found the right horse, we will take care of everything regarding the purchase.
This includes:
